The Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation Workshop, which took place from 6-8 June, was a collaborative effort led by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Türkiye, the DAI-Labor der TU Berlin, ZEKI | Zentrum für erlebbare KI und Digitalisierung, and the German-Turkish Advanced Research Center for ICT GT-ARC. The aim of the workshop was to foster collaboration and explore emerging research in the field of intelligent technologies.

Fifteen participants from Germany and Turkey came together to develop innovative project concepts in the field of digitalisation and AI. The event highlighted the importance of international knowledge exchange in advancing technology and fostering collaborative synergies between the two countries.

Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Sahin Albayrak enriched the event with insights on artificial intelligence. Bruno Hamm-Pütt of KAS Türkiye gave the opening speech, highlighting the work of the foundation. Director Walter Glos, showed great interest in the students’ project presentations.

Projects included “Large Language Models and Beyond: AI for Social Integration Support”, which focused on the use of advanced language models for tasks such as translation to support social integration. Another project, “Distributed Intelligent Response Coordination System” (DIRC), aimed to improve emergency vehicle response times using digitised road infrastructure and autonomous vehicle research.

Future steps include refining these ideas for implementation. The success of the event was made possible by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, with special thanks to Türkmen Özmen and Hasan Yilmaz for their organisation and moderation.
