Space Drive 2

With Space Drive 2, Schaeffler ByWire offers a fail-safe steer-by-wire system. The system enables multi-redundant, purely signal-based control of the motor, brakes and steering.
Extended interface for driving dynamics
The Space Drive 2 system installed here has been equipped with an extended interface for vehicle dynamics control. This interface is developed by SHARE at KIT and allows a simplified control of the vehicle based on acceleration and steering angle. The system allows multi-redundant control of engine, brakes and steering.

Drive Pilot

DRIVE PILOT allows you to hand over the driving task to the system under certain conditions and up to a speed of 60 km/h on suitable sections of German motorway with heavy traffic. Once DRIVE PILOT has been activated, the system regulates speed and distance, for example, and keeps the car within its lane.
